Installing AAP devices
Follow these steps to install Extron control modules (IRCMs, ACMs, RCMs), Extron
Architectural Adapter Plates (AAPs), or other Extron AAP devices in the AAP
openings:
1.
If applicable, set the DIP switches on any AAP devices to be attached to the
MLM-WB.
2.
Attach AAP plates or AAP devices: insert the AAP plate/device’s screws
through the holes in the MLM-WB’s
AAP mounting area, as shown in the
following illustration. Secure the AAP
plate/device to the MLM-WB with the
captive washers and #4-40 nuts that
came with the AAP plate or device.
Blank plates are not included with the
MLM-WB.
3.
Insert the longer (1/8”, 0.3 cm long thread region) socket screws into the door
hinge holes, and hand tighten them with the provided hex wrench.
4.
Open and close the door to make sure you can still move it smoothly, and
loosen or tighten the hex socket screws as needed.
If the front of the VCR faces out the right side of the MLM-WB, when you
open the door, becareful not to push the hinged side of the door against the face
of the VCR.

3.
Connect cables to the rear connectors of the AAP plates/devices. Refer to the
Control Modules User’s Manual, the Relay Control Modules User’s Manual (or the
manual for any other AAP device(s) you are installing) for wiring diagrams.
Control modules (IRCMs, ACMs, RCMs) can be daisy chained to each other at
this point, but do not connect the MLC to the control modules at this time.
Cabling the MLC
Although you can attach cables to a MediaLink™ Controller (MLC) after the MLC
has been mounted in the MLM-WB’s door, it is easier to cable the MLC before
attaching it to the door.
Cable the MLC as described in chapter two, “Installation”, of the MediaLink
Controllers User’s Manual.
