ENGINE GUARD - Yamaha V-Star 950
We recommend you read all instructions fully before starting. Use Loctite®
on all threaded hardware. Cover your front fender to protect it from damage
prior to installing Engine Guard.

Install Time: 20 to 30 minues
INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
(1) 3/8"-16 x 2.25" Socket Cap Screw Chrome
(2) 3/8" Flat Washer Chrome
(1) 3/8-16 Nylock Nut
(1) Mounting Plate
(1) Engine Guard
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Assorted Metric & SAE Wrenches & Sockets
INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: For an easier install we recommend two people perform this installation.
1. Using a 14mm socket remove the floorboard mounting bolts from the left and right rider floorboards and let
them hang.
2. Insert the Engine Guard and align the mount holes of the lower brackets against the frame with the
floorboard mounting holes. Lift and align the floorboard mounts with the brackets and frame. Insert the stock
mounting bolts and thread them to snug, but do not tighten at this time.
3. Push the cross flange at the top of the Engine Guard up against the down tubes. Place the black mount plate
against the backside of the down tubes.
4. Install the flat washer under the head of the 3/8-16 x 2.25" bolt and insert it through the cross flange and
through the mount plate. Install the second flat washer on the bolt, then thread the nylock nut on the bolt and
snug, but do not tighten at this time.
5. Align the Engine Guard to center it on the down tubes and then tighten the upper bolt fully, while keeping
the mount plate square.
6. Tighten the mounting bolts on the left and right floorboard mount fully.
RECOMMEND: Re-tighten all hardware after riding 100 miles.
