NUDE PULLEY COVER INSTALLATION GUIDE - Yamaha

INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
1-Chrome Pulley Cover
1-Cover Backing Plate
(6) M8x1.25x25mm Chrome Allen Screws
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand. Remove the drive pulley cover bracket and drive pulley cover per
Yamaha service manual procedures.
2. Straighten lock washer tab on the drive pulley. Loosen drive pulley nut and remove pulley.
NOTE: When loosening the drive pulley nut, press down on the brake pedal to prevent the pulley from turning.
You may need to loosen the rear axle and slide the rear wheel forward slightly to allow enough slack in the belt
for easier pulley removal.
3. Insert Barons aluminum Pulley Cover backing plate into backside of drive pulley and re-install drive pulley
onto output shaft spline (If installing Baron aftermarket pulley, do not use this backing plate). Install lock
washer (new), drive pulley nut and drive belt. Tighten pulley nut to 61 ft-lb.
NOTE: When tightening drive pulley nut, press down on the brake pedal to prevent the pulley from turning.
Bend lock washer tab along a flat side of the nut. Adjust drive belt and tighten rear axle per Yamaha service
manual procedures.
4. Insert new chromed Pulley Cover into drive pulley, aligning bolt holes with backing plate (or align with
threaded holes on Baron aftermarket pulley). Install supplied M8x1.25x25mm cap-head allen bolts into pulley
cover and tighten to 20 ft-lb. (We recommend the use of RED Loctite on these bolts).
