Yamaha Bolt Engine Guard
CAUTION! We Strongly recommend that a qualified Technician install this
kit should you not fully understand the instructions prior to starting the
install. For questions contact our tech dept. via email or phone # listed below.
Revision: 1.0 - 11/04/2013
Install Time: 20 Minutes
INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
(3) M10 x 1.25 x 40mm Hex Flange Bolts Black Zinc
(2) M10 x 1.25 x 75mm Hex Flange Bolts Black Zinc
(1) M10 Lock Washer Black Zinc
(1) Gloss Black Powdercoated Mount Bracket
INSTRUCTIONS:
Note: This installation is much easier if performed with at least one assistant.
1. Secure bike on jack.
2. Remove (4) M10 bolts securing the left and right foot controls.
3. Slide the engine guard into place. This is much easier to do if you have one or two people to hold the guard
in place. If you are trying to do this install yourself, you will need some support blocks (2x4s work well) to
support the weight of the guard while you secure it to the frame.
4. Secure the long mount tabs of the engine guard between the foot controls and the frame. Red loctite is
recommended for all bolts used in this installation. The M10x1.25x75mm bolts are used on the right side
and 2 of the M10x1.25x40mm bolts are used on the left side. Leave the bolts slightly loose.
5. Next, using the supplied bracket and remaining M10x1.25x40mm bolt and lock washer, secure the top
bracket of the engine guard to the frame.
6. Tighten all the hardware to complete the installation.
You must re-tighten all engine guard mounting bolts after 100 miles of riding!
Our install guides provide a basic outline on the proper installation of our products. Further tuning and/or
fitment may be required. Barons bears no responsibility on installation costs associated with this product.
