INSTRUCTIONS:
BE ADVISED: Installation of this Big Air Kit requires the installation of a special Needle and Jet kit for proper
air fuel mixture. The Baron Needle/Jet Kit BA-2461-00 comes with the properly calculated configuration and is
available separately .
1. Removie fuel tank according to factory service manual procedures.
2. Remove air cleaner from right side of bike.
3. Remove idle cable holder from back of stock air filter.
4. Install idle cable holder to rear of the new BAK backing plate into the hole on the bottom left. Bracket
should face outward and slightly down when BAK is mounted.
5. Using three 1/4-20x3/4" Black Flat Head Allen Screws install three standoffs into backplate. Be sure to use
Blue Loctite®. Torque to 8-10 ft. lbs.
6. Thread Plastic Hose Fittings into back of new BAK plate. Be careful as these fittings can easily
croww-thread or strip!
7. Attach hoses to hose fittings and install backplate to carb using three M5x16mm Allens. Be sure to use
Blue Loctite® & torque to 80 in.lbs.
8. Install supplied M6x65 screw through the front of the backing plate in the hole nearest the idle cable
holder, then through supplied spacer and into engine case.
9. Place filter over the spacxers and into the groove on backing plate. Place cover plate onto filter. Gently
guide the cover plate around filter to seat and seal filter. Insert three 1/4-20x3/4" Black Flat Head Allen
Screws onto spacer mounts.
10. Using the 1/4-20x1/2" polished SS Flat Head Allen, attach mesh & xXx cover to black cover. Torque to
5ft.lbs.
11. Re-install fuel tank. Remember to replace the vacuum line on the petcock and the vent on the rear
underside of the tank.
