NOTE: IN DUSTY FIELD CONDITIONS CHECK AND CLEAN AIR FILTER DAILY
• Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by
relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines. Use a piece of paper or cardboard, NOT
BODY PARTS, to check for suspected leaks.
• Wear protective gloves and safety glasses or goggles when working with hydraulic and high-
pressure wash systems.
• If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically
removed within a few hours or gangrene may result.
Changing Hydraulic Fluid
The lubricating and corrosion inhibiting capacities of hydraulic fluid are reduced over time. Regular
fluid changes are therefore necessary to prolong the life of the hydraulic system. The table above
identifies a change interval of every 300 hours of operation or one year, whichever comes first. A
shorter interval may be necessary under extreme operating conditions ( i.e. high temperature, etc.).
To change the fluid, place a suitable container under the drain plug at the front of the machine.
Remove the plug and completely drain the reservoir. Replace the plug and refill the reservoir with
new hydraulic fluid of 100-400 ssu at min/max operating temperatures. Add fluid until it is even with
the upper black line on the sight glass. (approx. 5.75 gallons)
Hydraulic Fluid Filter
The Veris MSP power pack comes equipped with a Parker cartridge-style filtration system. The filter
cannister is located on the back of the engine compartment as shown in Figure 3.1. Access to the
filter is gained by raising the hood. The power pack comes equipped with a Parker cartridge-style
