What’s New?
The following table describes the sections updated to reflect the new and updated
features on IPDirector versions 5.8.
In the user manual, the icon
has been added on left margin to highlight
information on new and updated features.

Updated section for IPDirector version 5.8
General
Update XT server to EVS video server to take all the EVS
video servers into account. EVS video server is
sometimes simply called EVS server.
Quick Text Search: possibility to perform a search on all
the database grid columns, even if they are hidden.
Update: Nearline management:
•
Support of multi-files formats: Quick Time ref, Avid
OPAtom, MPEG 1 Elementary System.
•
Automatic update of the metadata files.
•
Updated list of supported codecs, including codecs not
present in XT.
Update of the contextual menus ‘Clips’, Clip Elements’
and ‘Media Files’ with the Generate XML Metadata
option.
Update: possibility to choose to delete a clip even if it is
present in a timeline or playlist.
