7.2.1 Remote Node Bridging Setup

Follow the procedure in Chapter 5 to configure the protocol-independent parameters in Menu 11.1 -
Remote Node Profile

. For bridging-specific parameters, you need to configure Menu 11.3 - Remote Node

Network Layer Options

To set up Menu 11.3 - Remote Node Network Layer Options follow these steps:
Step 1.

In Menu 11.1, make sure the Bridge field is set to Yes.

Step 2.

Move the cursor to the Edit IP/IPX/Bridge field, then press the space bar to select Yes and press
[ENTER]

to open Menu 11.3 - Network Layer Options.

Layers menus.

Press the space bar to change it to Yes and press ENTER] to go to the
Network Layer Options Menu.

Please note that the following fields are only valid for PPPoE encapsulation.

Dial-On-Broadcast

This field is necessary for your Prestige on the caller side LAN. When
set to Yes, any broadcasts coming from the LAN will trigger your
Prestige to make a call to this remote node. If it is set to No, your
Prestige will not make the outgoing call.
