This command informs the TA which character set
The TA is then able to convert character strings correctly between TE and ME
character sets.
When TA-TE interface is set to 8-bit operation and the used TE alphabet is 7-
bit, the highest bit shall be set to zero.
Note!_
How the internal alphabet of ME is converted to, or
from, the TE alphabet is manufacturer specific.
Read command shows current setting and test command display conversion
schemes implemented in the TA.
“GSM”
GSM default alphabet (GSM 03.38 subclause 6.2.1).
Default value
“IRA”
International reference alphabet (ITU-T T.50). Note:
recommended default value by GSM 07.07.
“8859-n”
ISO 8859 Latin n (1-6) character set
“UTF8”
Universal text format, 8 bits
“ERICSSON”
Unicode, 16-bit universal multiple-octet coded character
set (ISO/IEC10646)
