volume level, then press

• You can adjust the volume level within the range of 0
(silent) to 50 (maximum).
• When you select “VOL. – –” (selectable only with
the unit turned on), the volume is set to the current
level.

¢ or SELECT 4 to select “FADE”
or “NoFADE”, then press
SET.
FADE
: Volume fades in (gradually becomes
louder and is set to the specified level).
NoFADE : No fade-in effect. Volume is set to the
specified level when the timer on-time
comes.
The DAILY indicator stops flashing and remains lit on
the display.
The contents of this setting appear in sequence.

STANDBY/ON
to turn off the unit.
To turn off the Daily Timer after its setting is done
1 Press
CLOCK/TIMER three times.
The Daily Timer ON/OFF setting screen appears in the
main display.
2 Press
CANCEL.
The Daily Timer will be turned “OFF,” and the DAILY
indicator goes off from the display.
To turn on the Daily Timer, repeat step 1, and press
SET
in step 2.
The DAILY indicator lights up on the display. The
settings you have stored are shown in the main display
for your confirmation.
• “DAILY TIMER NO SET” appears and “SET DAILY!”
flashes in the main display before you enter the timer
settings.
If the unit is turned on when the timer on-time
comes
Daily Timer does not work at all.
If you change the source or turn off the unit while
Daily Timer is working
Daily Timer is canceled temporarily.
If you press
CLOCK/TIMER, SLEEP, or TITLE/EDIT
during timer recording
Daily Timer is canceled temporarily, and the unit will not turn off
when the timer off-time comes.
Using Sleep Timer
With Sleep Timer, you can fall asleep to your favorite
music.
You can set Sleep Timer when the unit is turned on.
How Sleep Timer actually works
The unit automatically turns off after the specified time
length passes.
On the remote control ONLY:
Press
SLEEP until the shut-off time you want appears.
The SLEEP indicator lights up on the display.
The HDD lamp and the VOLUME lamp on the front panel
also go off.
“SLEEP” and sleep time appear in the main display.
• Each time you press the button, the time length changes
as follows:
• If the built-in clock has not been set, “CLOCK
ADJUST!” will flash for a while.
The display dims when the sleep timer starts working.
To check the remaining time until the shut-off time,
press
SLEEP once. The remaining time until the shut-off
time appears in the main display for about 5 seconds.
To change the shut-off time, press
SLEEP repeatedly until
the time length you want appears.
To cancel the setting, press
SLEEP repeatedly until
“SLEEP OFF” appears in the main display.
Sleep Timer will be also canceled in the following
cases:
• When the unit is turned off,
• When Recording timer is operated, and
• When the clock or any other timer is readjusted.
