IP Address:
Internet protocol (IP) address. This address is used by the family of Internet
protocols to uniquely identify this unit on a network.
Subnet Mask:
A subnet allows the flow of network traffic between hosts to be segregated
based on a network configuration. By organizing hosts into logical groups, subnetting can
improve network security and performance.
Gateway IP Address:
The IP address of a computer / router on the current network that acts
as a gateway. A gateway acts as an entrance / exit to packets from / to other networks.
Use VLAN Management Interface:
This controls whether the management interfaces
(HTTP/SNMP/SMTP/SNTP) use a VLAN. Selecting this option first presents the user with the
warning box shown in Figure 42, then presents the user with extra fields in which to enter the
Management VLAN ID, Priority and whether to validate the VLAN ID, as shown in Figure 43.
