13. CONFIDENTIAL MAILBOXES (ONLY FOR FAX-800M)
You can allocate three confidential mailboxes to individuals
or groups of individuals, so that each individual or group can
receive private messages. These are not printed out when
they are received but are stored in the memory. Only the per­
son or people who know the mailbox passcode (retrieval ID)
number can print out these transmissions. A single mailbox
can store several transmissions. Messages remain in the mail­
box until you print them out or until the machine is turned
off. Both fax units must be Brother machines that incorporate
this feature.
Registering a confidentiai mailbox
A mailbox must have assigned to it a mailbox number (confi­
dential ID), a mailbox passcode (retrieval ID) and a name. To
transmit to a mailbox the person sending the transmission
must quote the mailbox number (confidential ID). To retrieve
a document from his mailbox the owner must enter the mail­
box passcode (retrieval ID). The name is used for the Confi­
dential Message Information which informs the owner that a
confidential message is waiting for him.
