10. SENDING FAXES WITH THE ECM FEATURE

(ONLY FOR INTELLIFAX 800M)

The Error Correction mode (ECM) is a means for checking
the integrity of a fax transmission while it is in progress.
ECM transmissions are only possible between machines that
both have the ECM feature. This feature requires that a cer
tain amount of memory be available in order to function.

If there is not enough machine memory available for ECM to
work properly, or if the receiving fax machine does not have
the ECM feature, the document will be sent normally. That is,
the ECM function will not be used.
