Operator ID Options

1.

Not Required: Select if entry of an Operator ID (OID) or PIN is not required when running a test.

2.

OID Required: Select to require entry of an OID (any OID) when running a test.

3.

Valid OID Required: Select to require entry of an OID that is included in the Operator Table and is
within the expiration period (if an expiration date is enabled for that user).

4.

Valid PIN Required: Select to require entry of an authorized Operator PIN. All PIN numbers must
have a corresponding Operator ID in the Operator Table.

Note: Only one of the alternatives listed in steps 1 through 4 can be selected. Authorized OIDs
and/or PINs are entered in the Operator Table. Both OID and PIN should be unique for each
authorized operator or group in the Operator Table (see page 62).

OID Scan Only: Enter a check mark to specify that the OID must be scanned.

Note: If OID Scan Only is enabled, the operator is prompted to scan the OID when running a
test. The operator can still enter the OID manually by pressing the ID key (as indicated by the
ID=Manual Entry prompt), but the OID must be entered twice.

Reuse Operator ID: Enter a value (from 1 to 240 hours) to allow the instrument to use the OID
from the previous test as the default entry for the current test. The OID will be entered by default for
the specified length of time and will be flagged as a manual entry in the database.

Note: If 0 is entered, the OID will not be reused. The default OID can be changed if needed.

Patient ID Options

1.

Require Patient ID: Enter a check mark to require entry of a PID when running a patient test.

2.

Patient ID Length: Select the minimum (from 1 to 20) and maximum (from 1 to 20) number of
digits that must be entered for a patient ID.

3.

PID Scan Only: Enter a check mark to specify that the PID must be scanned.

Note: If PID Scan Only is enabled, the operator is prompted to scan the PID when running a
test. The operator can still enter the PID manually by pressing the ID key (as indicated by the
ID=Manual Entry prompt), but the PID must be entered twice.

Date Format: Select MM/DD/YY to display June 1, 2006 as 06/01/06. Select YY-MM-DD to display
June 1, 2006 as 06-06-01.

Time Format

Time Format: Select 24 Hour to display 7:15 pm as 19:15. Select 12 Hour to display 7:15 pm as
7:15 pm.

Cuvette Lot Options

1.

Required: Enter a check mark to require entry of a cuvette lot number and expiration date when
running a test.

2.

Scan only: Enter a check mark to specify the cuvette information can only be entered using the
barcode scanner.

Note: If Scan Only is enabled, the operator is prompted to scan the cuvette information when
running a test. The operator can still enter the information manually by pressing the
7 key (as indicated by the 7=Manual Entry prompt), but the information must be entered
twice. Refer to page 29 for additional information.
