Chapter 3 Software Installation
3.1 Installing From the Software CD
This section describes the instructions for installing the OS and system
software from the AVerMedia LX5000 system CD.
Before you starting to install the system, please confirm that
the time in the system is met to the current time.
1. Go into the BIOS Setup and configure the First Boot Device to be
the CD-ROM in order to boot from the AVerMedia LX5000 system CD.
Note that when you use this CD to boot the system, the CD-ROM
drive can either be the master or slave of any IDE channel.
2. After boot-up, you will need to choose one of the options from the
menu below.
(1) Make Hard Disk and Install: This option installs the Linux OS and
AVerMedia LX5000 software onto the hard disk. Before running this
option, make sure that you have installed the hard disk as IDE 0
master.

(0) Exit & Shutdown.

The system will display a warning message to remind you to install
the hard disk as IDE 0 master:
(0) Exit & Shutdown: This option exits the setup mode and then
proceeds to shutdown.
3. Reboot the computer to run the system.
