Checking the heating hoses for damage and
tightness

Check the heating hoses for leaks and damage.
Checking engine V-belt tension and condi-
tion
Please also refer to the operating instructions of the engine
manufacturer.
CAUTION
Adjust V-belt tension only when the engine is
shut off.

Inspect V-belts for cracks and tears over their entire
length.

Replace damaged V-belts.

Using thumb pressure, check that belt deflection is
not over 10 - 15 mm.

To tighten the V-belt: Loosen the fastening screws on
the idler pulley mounting and push the pulley outwards
until the proper V-belt tension is obtained.

Tighten the fastening screws on the idler pulley
mounting.
Cleaning the strainer in the fuel pump, re-
placing if necessary

Clean the strainer and, if necessary, replace it accor-
ding to the procedure in the engine operating instruc-
tions.
