Printer drivers
Printer drivers access the printer features and allow the computer to communicate with the
printer. The following printer drivers are included with the printer on a CD-ROM.
NOTE
The HP Color LaserJet 3550 does not include PCL and PostScript Page Description
Languages (PDL). The HP Color LaserJet 3550 uses the HP JetReady 4.1 PDL, which is a
host-based printer language. HP JetReady 4.1 uses the combined power of the computer
and the printer to render the printed page in a Windows or Macintosh system environment.
HP JetReady 4.1 transfers the pre-rendered pages from the host computer to the printer and
communicates instructions to the printer on how to convert the pages to printable data.
