NOTE: This section does not pertain to the M24SII-V02 high speed
parallel module.
OPTION ACCESSIBILITY: Through Port 1 of Module 1 only.
By responding to the Enter Request: message at the end of the main
configuration menu (see
Section 8.1
) with "3" (Set Port Designation),
you may designate any port on the selected module as a computer
port or a printer port.
Plotters should be connected to ports designated as printer ports.
Modems should be connected to ports designated as computer ports.
A minimum of one port per Model 24SII DES unit must always be
designated as a computer port. If Module 1 is occupied by an
M24SII-V03, M24SII-V04, M24SII-V06A, M24SII-V07, or M24SII-V08
high speed serial module, Port 1 of Module 1 cannot be configured to
be a printer port.
The Model 24SII DES will respond with:

Enter Port Number (ENTER=Exit) :
Enter the number of the port that you wish to designate a computer
port or a printer port and then strike the Enter key. For example, if you
entered "4" and Enter for Port 4, the Model 24SII DES will respond
with:
Port Is Assigned as a ( Computer) Port
Enter P or C to Change, Enter When Done :
You may now designate the port by entering "P" for printer port or "C"
for computer port. Enter may be sent for no change. For example, if
you entered "P", the Model 24SII DES will respond with:
Port is designated as a ( Printer ) Port
