IMPORTANT: Before you proceed with cabling, you must know
whether the devices to which you will connect the Model 24SII DES
are DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) or DCE (Data Communication
Equipment). The following devices are generally DTE: terminals,
printers, computers like the IBM PC. The following devices are DCE:
modems and some computers.
The M24SII-V05 and M24SII-V06A I/O modules have RJ-45 modular
connectors. Most serial computers, modems, and printers do not
have RJ-45 modular connectors. Therefore, adapters are required to
convert from either DB-25 or DE-9 connectors to modular connectors.
BayTech has a complete line of RJ-45 adapters and cables that will
make your installation quick and trouble free. Please see
Appendix
A.5
for adapter pin outs as well as recommended cabling.
The M24SII-V05 and M24SII-V06A I/O modules use the following
