5.5.5 RADIUS (Access Point Mode Only)
Remote Authentication Dial In User Service (RADIUS) authentication is only available when the
EOA7530 is configured for Access Point Mode. Use this feature if you have a RADIUS server.
WPA(TKIP), WPA2(AES), and WPA2 Mixed encryption types are also supported.
The following figure shows an example of a RADIUS configuration, where two EOA7530 devices
installed at different locations communicate with each other wirelessly. In this configuration, one
EOA7530 is configured for Access Point Mode and connected to a RADIUS server via a switch, while
the other EOA7530 is configured for Client Bridge Mode. The RADIUS server uses an authentication
scheme such as PAP or CHAP to verify a user's identification, along with, optionally, other information
related to the request, such as the user's network address or phone number, account status and
specific network service access privileges. The RADIUS server then returns one of three responses to
the EOA7530 : Access Reject (user is denied access to all requested network resources), Access
Challenge (requests additional information from the user such as a secondary password), PIN, token
or card), or Access Accept (user is granted access).
The sections that follow the figure below describe how to configure your EOA7530 for use in a
RADIUS environment.
