Troubleshooting
This chapter provides information concerning the following:
Unless otherwise noted, the following information applies to all DFE‐Diamond modules.
Using LANVIEW
The modules use a built‐in visual diagnostic and status monitoring system called LANVIEW. The
LANVIEW LEDs (
) allow quick observation of the network status to aid in diagnosing
network problems.
About the Management (MGMT) LED
) indicates when the module is serving as the Management
Module to control the management functions for all DFE‐Diamond modules in the chassis. The
Management Module handles all IP requests to the chassis IP address, such as PING, Telnet,
SNMP, HTTP, etc. The Management Module also handles the CLI configuration sessions via the
console port. So, when you plug into a DFE‐Diamond module COM port to configure a
DFE‐Diamond module in the chassis, it is handled by the Management Module regardless of the
DFE‐Diamond module COM port that you use.
CPU, Receive, and Transmit Activity LEDs
The CPU LED indicates when the module has power, is booting, running properly, being reset, or
shutting down. There is also a set of RX and TX LEDs for each 10 Gbps port. These LEDs indicate
if the port is receiving/transmitting, linked, and passing traffic.
