Encoder Mode
The Encoder Mode Tab is used to manage the parameters that are common to all encoder
instances.
Encoder Mode Configuration Tab
The configurable parameters are:
Encoder Mode
: The 9992-ENC can be configured either as a 4-channel HD encoder or a
single-channel 4K encoder. Note that 4K operation requires the
+4K
option (factory
installed in the 9992-ENC-4K-HEVC model). Also note that 4K operation is not
supported for MPEG-2.
Compression Standard
: This selects the compression standard.
Note that, in
multi-channel mode, all channels will use the same compression standard
. The options
are:

H.265 (HEVC):
This selects H.265 (High Efficiency Video Coding)
compression. HEVC operation requires the
+HEVC
option (factory installed in
the 9992-ENC-4K-HEVC model). When HEVC is selected, the
Latency Mode
selection is presented:
Normal Encoding Latency
: this mode is optimized for video quality, and
all the HEVC parameters are available for configuration.
Ultra Low Latency
: this mode is optimized for low latency (less than one
frame). Notes:
o
Many configuration parameters will not be available in this mode.
o
Ultra Low Latency operation requires the optional
+ULL
license.
