The peak level indicators or the
REC /
REC PAUSE indicator does
not light/flash.
• The “LED” item in the “Common Settings” menu is set to “OFF.”
Display the menu and set it to “ON” (page 69).
“--y--m--d --:--” is displayed as the
recorded date.
• The file may have been recorded by a model other than
PCM-D10. The date and time recording format varies depending
on the model.
There are fewer menu items on the
OPTION menu.
• Some menu items are not displayed during playback or
recording.
A character in a folder or file
name is displayed in unreadable
characters.
• The linear PCM recorder cannot support or display some special
characters and symbols that are entered on a computer using
Windows Explorer or Mac Finder.
The “Please Wait” message does not
disappear.
• If the linear PCM recorder is required to process a large amount
of data, the message may be displayed for an extended period
of time. This is not a malfunction of the linear PCM recorder.
Wait until the message disappears. In this case, do not remove
the batteries.

The file transferred from your
computer is not displayed or cannot
be played back.
• The linear PCM recorder can recognize up to 8 levels of folders.
• The files other than those the linear PCM recorder supports
may not be displayed. Check the compatible file formats (page
86).

Cause/Solution
The linear PCM recorder is not
recognized by your computer. A
folder/file cannot be transferred
from your computer.
• Disconnect the linear PCM recorder from your computer and
reconnect it.
• Operation is not guaranteed if you use any system environment
other than those that the linear PCM recorder support.
• Depending on the USB port position, the linear PCM recorder
may not be recognized. If this happens, try another port.
