5-1-6. NTP
Protocol for synchronizing the time between devices connected through the network
Description of features
1. Time synchronization
1) Synchronization with the NTP server
Time is synchronized with the NTP server by the hour.
A. Automatic setting
Connection with the server nearest to the user-defined zone is attempted or the next nearest
server if connection fails.
B. User setting
The user sets the URL or IP of the NTP server. If connection is not established, a message is
sent to the user, and the corresponding logs, saved.
If synchronization with the NTP server fails, synchronization with the RTC ensues.
2) Synchronization with the DVR Time Server
The DTS server runs in Workhorse 120-4; time is synchronized by the hour. Workhorse 120-4
DTS clients referring to the DTS synchronize the time of the DVR system.
Any change in the DTS time or zone is reflected on the Workhorse 120-4 of the network
(synchronization signals are broadcast without passing through the router or gateway; the DVR
time server does not support automatic connection).
2. Daylight saving time (DST) setting
The DST is automatically processed depending on the zone, i.e., whether the NTP server or the
DST server is used as a reference.
3. User time setting
The user can set the time.
For NTP client setting, however, the user can only read the time but not change it.
