In case of insufficient hard drive space, files starting from the oldest ones are
overwritten.
OFF Once the hard drive space is used up, recording stops.
(4) Management and configuration of the local storage device
Similar to a hard drive, a local storage device saves data in real time. It supports the following
features:
- {Initialize}: Sets the selected storage device as a recording storage device
- {Online}: Makes the selected storage device available online
- {Offline}: Disconnects the selected storage device from the DVR
- {Format}: Formats the selected storage device
In Healthy and Warning states, the commands described above are executed; in Fault state,
however, no command is executed.
{5) Configuration of the local storage device
{Model}: Storage device model
{Serial}: Serial number of the storage device
{Location}: Physical location of the storage device
{Capacity (F/T)}: Capacity of the storage device (T: Total; F: Free)
{Status (HW/SW)}: Status of the storage device (HW/SW; SW: Software; HW: Hardware)
Three software status types
- Active: Connected to the DVR; the storage device is currently recording
- Online: Connected to the DVR, but the storage device is not recording
- Offline: Not connected to the DVR
Three hardware status types
- Healthy: Connected to the DVR; the storage device is recording normally
- Warning: Connected to the DVR, but an error has occurred; in this state, recording may
fail (for more information, see the warning below)
- Fault: Not connected to the DVR, possible hardware damage; in this state, the storage
device cannot operate
1. Fault state: The storage device is damaged and unable to function properly.
Fault state is not related to DVR troubles. The DVR detects errors in the storage
device and stops recording.
2. Warning state: The storage device has a physical error that can be corrected
by the storage device or DVR. Failure to repair the error may damage the
