23 shutting the stove down – MCZ Antares '03 User Manual
Page 41

The stove can be shut down at any time and in whatever state it is in.
Never shut the stove down by cutting off the electricity supply:
Always leave it to complete the shutdown cycle, otherwise damage could be
caused to the structure, and also problems with lighting in the future.
To shut the stove down, press Key (5) on the control panel or the remote control, for
several seconds.
On the display (8) the message "Off" will appear. At this moment the shutdown cycle begins, in
which the pellet loading screw stops, while the smoke extractor and the hot air exchanger remain
on until the temperature of the stove has fallen sufficiently.
The real stopping of the stove only occurs 20 - 30 minutes later, and at all events not before the
smoke temperature falls below 50 °C.
This occurs to allow the combustion fumes to be ducted into the flue pipe by means of the
extractor.
It also means that there is total recovery of the heat yielded by combustion to the structure of the
stove.

3.24 Locking the keyboard on the control panel and
the LCD remote
This is a safety feature which MCZ provides, so that once the optimum settings for operation have
been found, no-one (children particularly) can accidentally or deliberately change the parameters
which have been set.
It is activated/deactivated
by the following sequence of keystrokes. Remember that only key (5)
must be pressed for several seconds:
1-4-5
(Not more than one second must be taken in moving from 1 to 4)
The message "Keyboard locked" will appear
To unlock it, repeat the process just described.
In the case of an electrical power-cut, the keyboard lock is not memorised, and when the power
comes back, the locking procedure will have to be repeated (if it is still considered appropriate).
The keyboard lock can be activated or deactivated at any time, and in whatever operating position
the stove is in.
