Maintenance Manual

7.2.11 Checking the Surge Arrester

2. Check whether the ready indicator on the surge arrester is red.

If the ready indicator is red, replace the protection module.

7.2.12 Checking the Supply Voltage

Required maintenance material (not included in the scope of delivery):

☐ Voltmeter

Requirement:

☐ The circuit breaker of the voltage supply for the Sunny Central must be switched on.

Procedure:

2. Measure the supply voltage at the connector on the lowest String-Monitor Unit.

☑ Supply voltage must be at least 30 V.

✖ The supply voltage is less than 30 V?

• Check the clamp terminals. Attach the cable if necessary.

7.2.13 Checking the Undervoltage Release (Optional)

2. Open the Sunny String-Monitor.
3. Disconnect the voltage at the undervoltage release.
4. Check whether the DC load-break switch has switched to the tripped position.

If the DC load-break switch has not switched to the tripped position, contact the SMA Service Line.

5. Switch the voltage at the undervoltage release back on. To switch on the 200 A and 280 A DC load-break switch,

the voltage applied must be greater than 85% of the nominal voltage V

N.

6. Switch the DC load-break switch to the Off position.
7. Switch the DC load-break switch back to the On position.
8. Close the Sunny String-Monitor.

7.2.14 Checking the Ground Connection

2. Check the ground connection and the contact resistance to the ground potential.
