Installation Instructions
Connecting the IOB 49
The IOB provides digital inputs and outputs, and an analog output for CSS (turning) or
Spindle control (milling).
To connect the IOB 49:
X Verify that the power switch is in the off position.
X Connect the IOB 49 using the connecting cable to X10 located on the rear of the
product. If using the KT 130 Edge Finder then a “Y” cable must be used. See
Accessories section for more details.
Connecting the KT 130 Edge Finder
The KT 130 Edge Finder is used for probing functions.
To connect the KT 130 Edge Finder:
X Verify that the power switch is in the off position.
X Connect the KT 130 Edge Finder directly to the ND 780 using X10 located on the rear
of the product. If using the IOB 49 then a “Y” cable must be used. See Accessories
section for more details.
Connecting the Grounding Edge Finder
The Grounding Edge Finder is used for locating an edge on a work piece .
To connect the Grounding Edge Finder:
X Verify that the power switch is in the off position.
X Connect the Grounding Edge Finder to the input jack on the rear of the product.

8. Initial power-up
To power-up the product:
X Press the On (supply) side of the power switch 1 to power-up the product. The startup
screen is displayed.
