Installing 8.x software, CPU carrier module, and codec module upgrades
Tools and materials needed:
• Hardware as provided by upgrade kit. See descriptions below.
• Torx tool with T15 magnetic tip
This section provides instructions for the following field kits:
Description Upgrade
Nomenclature
Upgrades a system with a Type I (Kontron) CPU carrier module currently at
a software version lower than 8.0 to software version 8.x.
Includes the following hardware:
• 1) 8 GB CompactFlash
• 1) 16 GB USB drive
Also includes K2 8.x software license.
Applies to K2 Summit Production Client, K2 Summit Transmission
Server/Client, and K2 Solo Media Server
K2-XDP-V8x-FK
Upgrades a system with a Type I (Kontron) CPU carrier module to the Type
II (ADLINK) CPU carrier module and software version 8.x.
Includes the following the following hardware:
• 1) Type II CPU carrier module
• 1) 8 GB CompactFlash
• 1) 16 GB USB drive
Also includes K2 8.x APPCENTER-PRO software license.
Applies to K2 Summit Production Client and K2 Summit Transmission
Server/Client. Does not apply to K2 Solo Media Server.
