Chapter 11 Troubleshooting hints
This section describes common installations mistakes and provides information
on how to troubleshoot the K2-AvidTM installation.
Common install or configuration faults
Installation
Description:
• Setup program fails to launch or fails partway through.
Workaround / hint:
• Run the setup again, but this time from the command line.
Use the following syntax: Setup /lv log.txt
This produces a log.txt that then can be forwarded to
Grass Valley for further analysis.
Description:
• K2-Avid-Explorer fails to start.
Workaround / hint:
• Make sure Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 are installed.
Description:
• K2-Avid-Explorer fails to connect to K2.
Workaround / hint:
• Verify the network connection by using ping. Ping both host name and
• IP address. That is: ping gvmx-d54 and ping 192.165.100.20.
Description:
• K2-Avid-Explorer fails to enumerate assets.
Workaround / hint:
• Check the K2 software versions are as are outlined in this document.
