Disconnecting the Power Supply Batteries for Shipment

Notice:

The following procedure for Disconnecting the Power Supply Batteries
applies only to Metro

TM

Series Mobile Computing Workstation equipped

with the Li-Nano Power Supply (MPS-4007). The battery cells must not
be connected during shipment due to USDOT AND IATA regulations.
The procedure is required when preparing to ship an MPS-4007 Power
Supply or a Metro

TM

Series Mobile Computing Workstation equipped

with the Power Supply.

Caution:

Only qualified service personnel should perform the following procedure
for Disconnecting the Power Supply Batteries.

Ensure Power
Supply is off

• Ensure the AC cable is disconnected from the wall outlet and

Normal Operation/Extended Storage switch of the Power Supply is
in the Extended Storage (Standby: down) position (see procedure
above in “Connecting the Power Supply Batteries”).

Open the Battery
Connector Access
Panel

• Open the Battery Connector Access Panel as detailed above in

“Connecting the Power Supply Batteries.”

Disconnect the
Battery Cells.

• At each connector, slip a large flat head screwdriver under the latch

of the connector offset to the left as shown below.
