One configuration supports the use of the Update Channel interface for the connection to the
shelf managers. This type of interconnection is used in Centellis 4620 and Centellis 4000
systems. When this option is selected, one shelf manager is connected via Base Channel Port 1,
and the second via the Update Channel Port 0. The following figure illustrates this
interconnection option.
Alternatively, port 0 and 1 of Base Channel Interface #1 are used to connect to the two shelf
managers in a system. This type of shelf manager interconnection is compliant to the PICMG
3.0 R2.0 ECN 3.0-2.0-001 standard and is used in Centellis 4100 systems.
