6.3 Connection to a control system
Depending on the application area and its respective regulations, the operating mode se­
lector switch can be used up to SIL CL 2 (EN IEC 62061) and up to PL d
(EN ISO 13849­1), if the operating modes are evaluated by a safety control system with
safe "1oon" evaluation.
The examples below meet the following conditions:
} A PNOZ m1p is used as a safety control system.
} An "operating mode selector switch" function element is configured in the PNOZmulti
Configurator for safe "1oon" evaluation.
} The Key ID interface and the interface for status information are evaluated via a higher­
level process control system.
} The cables for the unit's supply voltage (A1, A2) contain a 4 A fuse, characteristic B/C.
