A copy of the message is stored on the IM Sessions pane.
Receiving an instant message
When you log on, you receive instant messages regardless of what you
are currently doing on the mobile device. When you receive an instant
message, you are alerted by an audible tone and a visual alert.
• The audible tone is controlled by the device. To select a new tone,
disable the tone, or use vibrate mode in place of the tone, refer to
your device documentation.
• The visual alert is controlled by the MCC 3100 New IM Alert
parameter. For more information on instant messaging, see “Instant
Messaging settings” on page 47.
Table 19 "Instant message alerts” on page 98 illustrates the type of
alert you receive, depending on the current state of the MCC 3100.
