Setting the Scanning Density
You can adjust the lightness/darkness of the document pages before you scan for sending.

Press Exposure to select the scanning density.
Ex:
• You can select the scanning density from the following by pressing Exposure repeatedly.
- LIGHT
For documents with dark text or colour.
- STANDARD
For normal printed or type written text.
- DARK
For documents with light text or colour.

Press OK.
• You can set the scanning density so that the desired scanning density such as STANDARD is
automatically returned after the AUTO CLEAR function activates or documents are scanned. Since SCAN
DENSITY
of FAX DEFAULT is set to OFF in the factory default setting, the scanning density set using
Exposure will remain unchanged. (

the Additional Functions. (

Dialling Methods
There are several ways of dialling the number of the party to which you want to send a fax. They are as follows:
■ When the Fax Number is Not Registered in the Machine
• Regular Dialling
• Redialling
■ When the Fax Number is Registered in the Machine
• One-touch Speed Dialling
• Coded Speed Dialling
• Group Dialling
• Directory Dialling
• If you are unsure of the registered fax number, check the destination labels, or print each list and check
the numbers. (
→ pp. 3-9 to 3-11)

• The machine must be set to Fax mode when dialling.
