Chapter 6
Configuring Completion
Overview
This tutorial shows how the Template Editor tool can be used to generate a template
file (.kfi) for Completion.
A template file contains parameters that specify:
The layout of the Completion interface for each document.
The position and type of the data entry fields.
How document images are to be displayed.
Simple validation rules and references to more complex validation scripts.
Template Editor features a user interface that allows configuration changes to be
made quickly and tested offline.
There are two methods for creating fields in a template file:
Import fields from a definition file (created in Definer).
Create fields manually.
When using free-form searches, a definition file containing all the fields will not
normally be available. The fields are therefore created manually in Template Editor.
This tutorial will focus on creating a template file for the data fields defined in the
chapter
.
Note
The template file created here uses only a basic subset of available features for
controlling the behavior of Completion. This subset is common to all template files.
For details of all available features, refer to the How to Configure Completion book
in the INDICIUS Help.
