Starting Up
The computer cannot be
started up

Is the AC cord properly connected to the power terminal of the computer and/or a power
outlet?
i
Try restarting the computer after pressing the reset button in the computer OFF state. In
this case, the Microsoft ScanDisk program may automatically run to detect errors on the
hard disk. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Try removing and then reinserting the AC cord of the computer and restart the computer.

Confirm that access to the hard disk is possible.

You can set the date and time through [Date/Time] in [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel].
If you continue to experience problems, the internal battery maintaining the clock may need
to be replaced. Contact Panasonic at 1-800-272-7033.

Operations
Computer hangs
•
Select [Restart] in [Start] - [Shut Down].
•
Refer to [When the display freezes] on page 52 and restart the computer.
•
After powering down by pressing the power switch for more than four seconds, press the
power switch to power on and open the application again.
If the program no longer works normally, go to [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Add/
Remove Programs] to delete the program. Then, try installing the program once again.
The display becomes com
pletely dark
The power of the display may automatically switch OFF with the Pow'er Management func
tion. Refer to page 21 on measures to take.
The computer is not output
ting any sound
•
Is the sound volume set to the minimum level or has [Mute All] been set for [Volume
Control] in ^ on the taskbar
•
Confirm that the sound setting in the application software is correct.

Confirm that is not on the left side of [OFF] or [ON (Direct)] at [Digital Output] of
[YAMAHA DS-XG Audio Config], (0"pagc 23)
MIDI sounds cannot be out
put
When a USB-compatible speaker is used, MIDI sounds will fail to be output when the USB
speaker is removed and then reinstalled (while the computer is ON) or when the computer
resumes from the standby state. In such cases, MIDI sounds can be output by restarting the
computer.
A
file can no longer be
played using the Windows
Media Player
If the sleep button is pressed or the computer is made to forcefully enter the standby state via
the system standby setting in [Power Management] while a file is being played using the
Windows Media Player, the file may no longer be played properly when the computer re
sumes.
