When the menu screen is displayed
The menu screen may be displayed first after loading a DVD or
video CD which contains a menu.
DVD: Use AT-^ ► to select the program you would like to view,
then press ENTER to begin playback. Press TITLE or MENU to
return to the menu screen.
Video CD: Use the numbered buttons to select the program
you would like to view, then press ENTER to begin playback.
Press o*^RETURN to return to the menu screen.
For either DVD or Video CDs, menu continuations and the exact
operating procedures for using the menu may vary from disc to
disc. Follow the instructions on the menu screen.
To turn the power off
Press POWER. The unit enters the power standby mode, and the
STANDBY lamp on POWER turns red.
If 15 minutes have elapsed without performing any
operation
The unit enters the standby mode.
Therefore, if you start repeat playback, for example, and leave
the unit without performing any other operation for 15 minutes,
the unit will stop and enters the stand-by mode. This is not a
malfunction.
During playback, some of the basic functions may not work in some
DVD disc. This is not a malfunction. Operate it referring to the
instructions for discs.
Stopping playback (DVD, video CD, audio CD)
(ff) Press HSTOP.
When BSTOP is pressed during playback, “RESUME”
lights up on the display and the DVD player remembers
the point at which playback stopped.
To resume play from the point where it stopped
Press ►PLAY while “RESUME” is lit on the display.
To clear the point to be resumed
Press BSTOP again.
When AOPEN/CLOSE is pressed to open the disc tray or POWER
is pressed to turn the power off, the point to be resumed is also
cleared.
The DVD player can be changed to remember the point at which
playback stopped after opening the disc tray or turning the power
off. See “Disc Resume” of “CFIANGING SET UP VALUE” on page
43.
•During a Video CD playback with the PBC feature turned on, the
DVD player does not remember the point at which playback
stopped.
•The disc continues to spin while the menu screen is displayed
even if BSTOP is pressed. When you are finished using the
DVD player, turn the power off after pressing BSTOP.
