Removing the Fan

 

 

1.

Follow the instructions in

Before Working on Your Computer

.


 

2.

Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see

Removing the Bottom of the Base Assembly

).


 

3.

Remove the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws that secure the fan to the processor heatsink assembly.

 

4.

Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.

 

5.

Lift the fan up at a 45-degree angle, and pull it away from the flap on the processor heatsink assembly to remove it.

 

Replacing the Fan

 

 

1.

Lift the flap on the heatsink assembly and insert the fan at an angle.

 

2.

Align the screws holes in the fan with the screw holes in the processor heatsink assembly.

 

3.

Replace the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws to secure the fan to the processor heatsink assembly.

 

4.

Connect the fan cable to the system board.

Replace the bottom of the base assembly (see

).


 

6.
