Connecting the MCS

1 Connecting the MSM

Connect the eluent output capillary (labeled with Detector) using a
6.2744.090 long PEEK pressure screw (32-4) to the MCS inlet (32-1).

2 Connecting the detector

Connect the detector input capillary (34-3) using a long PEEK pres-
sure screw 6.2744.090 (32-4) to the MCS output (32-2).

Caution

If the MCS is not used, the input and output should be sealed with
6.2744.220 stoppers.

Installing the adsorption cartridges

For effective CO

2

removal, the air sucked through the degassing cell

should be as low in CO

2

as possible. To achieve this, the air is aspirated

through a 6.2837.000 CO

2

adsorption cartridge (33-4).

Moisture can block the CO

2

adsorption cartridge. In order to prevent this,

a 6.2837.010 H

2

O adsorption cartridge (33-7) is connected upstream.
