WD ShareSpace Basic Setup
Step 1: Connect WD ShareSpace to the Network
Follow the steps below to connect the WD ShareSpace to a small
home/office network.
1. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located on the back
of the device. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable directly into a router or
network switch port.
2. Connect the end of the adapter into the DC power supply socket located on the
back of the device.
3. Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet. After approximately 30 seconds, the unit
powers up automatically as indicated by a steady green LED illuminated on the
power button
.
Important: Wait for the WD ShareSpace to finish powering up (approximately three
minutes) before configuring the device.
To power down the device, press and hold down the power button for at least
four seconds.
