ATTACHING TO TRACTOR
With the packer on a level surface and the
transport wheels blocked:
4-4.1
Back the tractor into the hitch clevis so that
the holes align.
4-4.2
Set the tractor brakes and turn the tractor
engine off.
4-4.3
Install an agricultural hitch pin with a lock-
ing device. The hitch pin must be rated for
the size tractor pulling the implement. Secure
the locking device. Place tongue jack in
transport position.

Connect the hydraulic lines to the tractor.
WARNING
BE SURE NO ONE IS BETWEEN TRAC-
TOR AND IMPLEMENT DURING HITCH-
ING OPERATION WHILE TRACTOR EN-
GINE IS RUNNING.

UNHITCHING FROM TRACTOR
4-5.1
Locate the packer and tractor on a level
surface.
4-5.2
Lock in transport position and fold the
wings. Install blocks ahead of and behind the
packer ground wheels.
4-5.3
After relieving the hydraulic pressure, dis-
connect the hydraulic lines from the tractor.
4-5.4
Lower the tongue jack and place blocks
under the hitch so that the hitch pin is free.
4-5.5
Remove the hitch pin.

yields.

The most effective soil preparation will oc-
cur when operating between four and six
miles per hour.

This speed range will permit constant,
maximum soil firming.
