Using GAMME for Migrating Larger Amounts of Mail
When you first set up Google Message Continuity, the Continuity Sync Server
synchronizes (or migrates) the last 7 days of messages by default. You can
change this default setting and configure the Sync Server to migrate messages
that are up to 60 days old.
However, if you want to migrate larger amounts of mail (more than 60 days old),
you must first use Google Apps Migration for Microsoft
©
Exchange (GAMME),
which is a utility that migrates mail and contact data from your IMAP or Microsoft®
Exchange Server to Google Apps.
Note:
If you do decide to migrate larger amounts of mail, we recommend that you
first use GAMME to migrate your mail, and then start Google Message Continuity
-- but only after all messages are migrated using GAMME. We recommend that
you not run both services simultaneously on the same user mailboxes.

works, getting started, and running your migration:
Slow migration when adding users to GMC
When you add users to Google Message Continuity, the Continuity Sync Server
synchronizes (or migrates) the last 7 days of messages by default. You can
change this default setting and configure the Sync Server to migrate messages
that are up to 60 days old.
Using slow migration, GMC syncs the most recent messages first, while older
messages are migrated more slowly over time.
Prerequisites for Setting Up Google Message Continuity
To set up Google Message Continuity:
•
You must have one administrator account on your Exchange Server that has
permission to read/write each user’s mailbox. If you do not want to use the
administrator account, you can delegate administrator permissions to a
separate account and use that for running Message Continuity.
Note:
More details on how to delegate administrator role permissions on
Microsoft Exchange can be found in the Overview of Exchange administrative
role permissions in Exchange 2003 at the following page:
