b) Rotate the shaft so that the indicator rides along the seal-chamber face for 360°.
If the total indicator reading is greater than the values shown in this table, determine the
cause and correct it.

9. Check the seal-chamber lock (register) runout:
a) Mount a dial indicator on the shaft or shaft sleeve.
b) Rotate the shaft so that the indicator rides along the seal-chamber lock (register) for
360°.
If the total indicator reading is greater than 0.005 in. (0.125 mm ), determine the cause
and correct it.
