RS-232 Terminal Port
One method for accessing the management software is by connecting a
terminal or a PC with a terminal emulation program to the RS-232
Terminal Port on the switch, as indicated in Figure 14. This is commonly
referred to as local or out-of-band management. Please refer to Starting
a Local Management Session on page 59 for instructions on how to
start a local management session.

Once the session has been established using “manager” as both the
default login name and default password, the management software’s
Main Menu is displayed on the terminal’s screen, as shown in Figure 15.
