Kies via Wi-Fi
Samsung Kies is a software that enables you to update your
device firmware, synchronize files, and transfer data to and
from your device directly by connecting to the PC. Kies via
Wi-Fi allows you to access Samsung Kies using a Wi-Fi
network.

settings ➔ Kies via Wi-Fi.
1. From a Home screen, touch
2. Select the source of the Wi-Fi connection for Kies air.
For more information, refer to “Kies Via Wi-Fi” on page 88.
Home screen mode
Home screen mode allows you to set your display to the
conventional layout of Basic mode or provide an easier user
experience for the first-time tablet users using Easy mode.
1. From the Home screen, touch Settings ➔ Home
screen mode.
2. Tap the pull-down dropbox and select one of the
following options:
• Basic mode: provides conventional layout for the apps and
widgets on your home screens.
• Easy mode: provides easier user experience for first-time
tablet users on the home screens.
3. Tap Apply.
Blocking Mode
When enabled, notifications for selected features are
disabled.
1. From a Home screen, touch Settings ➔ Blocking
mode.
ON , to turn Blocking
mode ON.
2. Touch the OFF / ON icon
3. Touch Disable notifications to enable this feature.
A check mark appears in the check box when
Disable notifications is On.
4. Touch Disable alarm to enable this feature.
A check mark appears in the check box when
Disable alarm is On.
5. The Set time option allows you to set Blocking mode for
a specific time range or Always.
6. Touch the Always field to disable it or configure the
From and To time fields. A check mark appears in
the check box when Disable alarm and timer is On.
