Storage Mirroring Reporting Center server
storage database
z
Storage Mirroring Reporting Center GUI
Storage Mirroring Reporting Center server
The Storage Mirroring Reporting Center server performs monitoring of all Storage Mirroring servers
in the environment, and stores configuration, status, and performance data in a relational database.
The Storage Mirroring server monitors all of the data that is gathered for a variety of conditions and
generates alerts when these occur. The server can be installed on a server that has Storage Mirroring
installed on it, or on a separate machine.
You can either install the SQL Express 2005 database engine that is packaged with Storage Mirroring,
or connect the Storage Mirroring server to an existing Microsoft SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 server.
Storage Mirroring Reporting Center GUI
The Storage Mirroring Reporting Center GUI is a Graphical User Interface that is used to configure
the product and to run reports. The GUI is installed automatically on the Storage Mirroring Reporting
Center server when the server component is installed, but it may also be installed on other machines
in the environment to allow users on other machines to connect to the Storage Mirroring server and
run reports.
