Reset Hardware task
Because the switch does not have a power button, use this option to restart the switch.
IMPORTANT: This task will disrupt host I/O to the storage enclosures.
To perform this task, expand the display for the switch in the navigation tree, and then click Reset
Hardware.
NOTE:
•
This task is required after updating switch firmware.
•
In single-domain configurations, before resetting a switch, make sure that all I/O to the switch
is halted, and, if possible, power down all hosts, restarting them after the switch completes
the reset.
•
During the reset process, you are automatically logged out of VSM and may also be logged
out of OA.
•
After resetting the switch, clear the browser cache.
Reset Software task
Use this task to restart the VSM software utility.
To perform this task, expand the display for the active switch in the navigation tree, and then click
Reset Software.
NOTE: This task is required when updating switch network settings.
