Remote Web Console user guide for XP12000/XP10000/SVS200.

2.

On the V-VOL pane, select and right-click the V-VOL group containing the V-VOLs you want to delete

in the V-VOL group tree, and select Delete V-VOL Group. A confirmation message appears.

3.

Click OK. The selected V-VOL group's icon changes to an icon indicating the deleting process.

5.

NOTE:

You cannot delete the V-VOL if it is used as a Snapshot XP pair's S-VOL. To delete a

V-VOL used as an S-VOL, first delete the pair.

Creating Snapshot XP pairs

Use the RAID Manager XP paircreate command to create Snapshot XP pairs. To create Snapshot XP

pairs, the following are required:

Specify a volume that meets the requirements in

Table 2

as a P-VOL

Specify a volume that meets the requirements in

Table 3

as an S-VOL

Specify the same size volumes as a P-VOL and S-VOL

Specify the same pool for pairs that share a P-VOL when you use a volume that is already used as

another pair's P-VOL for the new pair's P-VOL

For more information about the paircreate command, see the HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP

user guide.

Storing snapshot data

Use the RAID Manager XP pairsplit command to store snapshot data in the pool. You can store a

maximum of 64 snapshot data per P-VOL. To store snapshot data, the pair status must be PAIR.

NOTE:

When a P-VOL is paired with two or more volumes, ensure that none of the pairs are in COPY(RS-R)

status.

You can use the pairsplit command to store one snapshot data at a time, but you cannot specify the

snapshot data ID. For more information about the pairsplit command, see the HP StorageWorks RAID

Manager XP user guide.

NOTE:

Snapshot XP does not support Quick Split mode. If you specify Quick Split mode, snapshot data is not

be stored in the pool even if the command ends normally.
