If you use the At-Time Split function when combining Continuous Access Journal Z with Business
Copy Z, note the following:
•
The specified split time is enabled even after the split operation has been executed on Business
Copy Z pair. When you execute split operation again on Business Copy Z consistency group
that has been split before, specify the split time after deleting the split time registered before.
•
In cascading configuration of Continuous Access Journal Z and Cnt Ac-S Z, the At-Time Split
function cannot be used for Business Copy Z pairs in conjunction with Continuous Access
Journal Z S-VOLs.
•
When you use the At-Time Split function on the following pairs, enable the time stamp
transferring option of all the Continuous Access Synchronous Z pairs combined with Continuous
Access Journal Z pairs. If the time stamp transferring option is not enabled, the data consistency
cannot be guaranteed in the Business Copy Z consistency group.
◦ Cascading configuration of Continuous Access Journal Z and Continuous Access
Synchronous Z, and when the Business Copy Z pair shares volume with Continuous Access
Journal Z S-VOL.
◦ Multitarget configuration of Continuous Access Journal Z and Continuous Access
Synchronous Z, and when the Business Copy Z pair shares volume with Continuous Access
Journal Z S-VOL (only when the pairs becomes cascading configuration during disaster
recovery operation).
•
The specified split time is reset by executing PS OFF of RCU.
•
You cannot execute Reverse Resync of Continuous Access Journal Z when split time is already
specified. You can execute Reverse Resync after you delete all the specified split time of
Business Copy Z pairs in conjunction with the restore journal. For details on Reverse Resync,
see the manual of Business Continuity Manager.
•
When split time is set to Business Copy Z consistency group, you cannot perform Add Pair
operation, Pair Resync operation, or Split Pair operation from the Business Continuity Manager.
If you need to execute Add Pair operation, Pair Resync operation, or Split Pair operation,
delete the split time in advance. When split time is set to Business Copy Z consistency group,
pairs can be deleted. If you delete the following pairs, the specified split time is deleted:
◦ Delete all the Business Copy Z pairs belonging to the Business Copy Z consistency group.
◦ Delete all the Continuous Access Journal Z pairs belonging to the Continuous Access
Journal Z restore journal.
